Three Manchester United Stars Who Could Leave On Loan Before The Transfer Window Shuts

Fans have been witnessing a major change at Manchester United this summer. José Mourinho has made it clear that he wants to get results straight away and may not be interested in developing youth at least this season. Experienced professionals like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have joined the club while names like Adnan Januzaj and Paddy McNair have either left on loans or on permanent deals. It is a culture shock to the United faithful, as they have seen commitment to developing youth even during the troubled times of David Moyes and Louis van Gaal.

It is no secret that Mourinho likes to have a squad of 22 outfield players and three goalkeepers. He has stood by this philosophy at his previous clubs too. Even though United are in the Europa League which will present the possibility of several energy sapping games, it seems that Mourinho is not ready to change his philosophy. The presence of youngsters may have helped the club in the League Cup, but it is likely that the Portuguese will make winning the League Cup as his main priority to start with. As a result, a number of youngsters have left United on loan deals and more could follow suit in the remaining few days. Here are some of the top three names who could leave before the end of the summer transfer window.

Bastian Schweinsteiger

Arguably one of the finest midfielders in the world, Schweinsteiger has been made to train alone immediately upon arrival of Mourinho. The treatment of the former German international by the Portuguese boss has been criticised in many quarters. Even though Schweinsteiger did not have his best debut campaign at Old Trafford, he remains a great asset for any team. Even if a permanent solution for his predicament is not found, Schweinsteiger is likely to leave on a loan deal.

Tyler Blackett

After featuring predominantly in Louis van Gaal’s first few months at Manchester United, Blackett has been forgotten the man in recent times. He spent the last season at Celtic without much success and is highly likely to move to a Championship club on loan before the end of the transfer window.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

The Dutch youngster had a couple of impressive outings after making his debut last season. Even though he has been included in the first-team squad, Mourinho is likely to let him leave on a loan deal if Jose Fonte joins as expected.
