This MLS speedster would be a perfect candidate to fill the void left by Harvey Barnes at West Brom – agreed?

Why Alberto Elis will be an ideal partner for both Gayle and Rodriguez

According to reports from Birmingham Live, West Brom are lining up a move for Alberth Elis – the Honduran forward who has been in fine form for Houston Dynamo in the MLS this year.

West Brom have had an almost unbelievable campaign so far in the Championship. They are still very much a part of the title race with the expectation of promotion also still valid.

They are currently well positioned at 4th place and are behind leaders Leeds United by 7 points but do have a game in hand. They have a superior goal difference as well, which is mostly down to their amazing scoring record.

Winning the game in hand will help them trump Sheffield into 3rd place and be just one point off Norwich in 2nd. Under Darren Moore’s guidance, the team just seems to be clicking – especially from an attacking viewpoint.

They have scored an amazing 57 goals already this campaign and have only conceded 35, making them the highest scorers and the team with the highest goal difference in the league.

Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez have scored 14 goals each, signifying how brilliant that have been in front of goal this season. They’ve even lost only the same number of games as leaders Leeds.

A recent blow that they faced was the premature recall of Leicester City loanee Harvey Barnes, who has doing an exceptional job at the Hawthorns. He had created an amazing understanding with both the strikers.

He often operated in a central attacking midfield role or was deployed on the right, which means that there is the requirement of a similar player who can come in and immediately improve the quality of football at Hawthorns.

According to Birmingham Live, Houston Dynamo forward Alberth Elis is the man they have found as the ideal successor to the Harvey Barnes position. Usually deployed on the left flank, his amazing dribbling ability and finesse on the ball are unmatched.

What makes him stand out is the sheer pace he’s able to produce, be it on the ball or without it. He seems to race past defenders at the speed of sound and is nearly impossible to catch once he gets into his stride.

He is also an amazing finisher who has a very good goal-scoring record in the MLS, having got 21 goals and 12 assists in his 56 appearances so far since joining Dynamo in January 2017.

He has the potential to be to a top player and if he’s able to work up a good relationship with Gayle and Rodriguez, then this could turn out to be one of the signings of the season.
