Chelsea appointing this German treasure as Sarri’s successor would make them a European force again

Chelsea opinion: Should Ralf Rangnick be considered for the Chelsea job

According to reports in the Metro, RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick is being seen as a potential successor for Maurizio Sarri, with the Chelsea boss constantly being linked with the Juventus job.

Rangnick is currently the RB Leipzig manager. RB Leipzig have become one of the most exciting sides in Europe in recent times, known for their fantastic recruitment over the years and grooming some of the best young talents in Europe, which includes the likes of Timo Werner, Naby Keita, Youseff Poulsen, Emil Forsberg and Ibrahima Konate.

Before Leipzig, Rangnick was the Schalke manager that finished as Bundesliga runners-up in the 2004/05 season and also took Hoffenheim from 3.Liga to the Bundesliga before Julian Nagelsmann took over to produce another very exciting German side. Ironically, Nagelsmann is set to become the new Leipzig manager.

Rangnick is a national treasure in Germany and Austria and it’ll be very hard to take him away but Chelsea fans can expect great recruitment, stability throughout the club’s organization, a focus on youth and attacking football if Rangnick is to become the manager.

He is an old-school manager, who takes care of the club’s entire hierarchy, where he is the coach, manager and director like Sir Alex Ferguson, Johann Cruyff and Arsene Wenger.

Current Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has had a topsy-turvy season, having gone undefeated for a long period but also suffering a poor run of form that saw them lose 6-0 at the Etihad to eventual champions Manchester City.

The former Napoli manager has been linked with the Juventus job after Massimiliano Allegri parted ways with the Old Lady after 4 successful years. Sarri, however, redeemed himself a little after winning the Europa League with Chelsea, destroying Arenal 4-1 in the final.

Conclusion

Sarri despite his critics has also finished with a respectable 3rd place and made it to 2 cup finals, winning one. Sarri is definitely a top manager and Chelsea should give him more time to build a team entirely in his image and do everything they can to keep him at the club.

The chances of getting Rangnick from RB Leipzig aren’t great due to the reputation he has at the club. Chelsea’s hire and fire structure is the polar opposite of what Rangnick is used to so it’ll be a massive surprise
