Brighton and Hove Albion haven’t enjoyed an overly successful season this year. Despite all the difficulties they’ve faced, they have looked like a team that is mentally strong even when they aren’t in a winning position.
Chris Hughton has certainly instilled some excellent morals into this talented side and even with a major lack of funds when compared to the other clubs from the bottom half of the table, the Seagulls have managed to stand on their own two feet.
Currently 16th and clear of Southampton by just 3 points, Brighton will have to work much harder if they are going to come through this year without going through the late-season relegation dogfight.
Their defence has been quite decent this term and being they don’t score too many goals, centre-half Shane’s Duffy has contributed to their campaign with 5 goals – the 2nd highest in the squad. This highlights the main area of concern for Hughton.
35-year-old Glenn Murray is the first-choice striker at the Amex Stadium and while he has pitched in with 10 goals this season, Brighton have only managed to scored 28 goals all season and for things to improve down south, the addition of a consistent goalscorer is a necessity.
Considering that only 7 points separates them from the top half of the Premier League table, the addition of another striker who can get goals on a consistent basis is just what Chris Hughton’s biggest priority must be come the end of the season.
Given their financial circumstances, there isn’t too much transfer budget available and there is one player who would fit the bill perfectly. Victor Osimhen is a Nigerian international forward who currently plies his trade for Belgian Jupiter Pro League club RAC Charleroi.
He is actually a Wolfsburg player who is currently on loan in Belgium but has impressed heavily during his time at the club. He joined the Bundesliga giants in January 2017 and has been at Charleroi since the start of the current campaign where he has scored 9 and assisted 3 from his 21 league appearances.
His movement on and off the ball are excellent while he possesses brilliant skill with the ball at his feet as well. His sharp touches and dribbles are certain to be a massive hit in the Premier League while his ability to finish with both feet and his head will make him a threat from set-pieces as well.

His exploits have already earned him 2 caps for his country Nigeria as well and given his attributes, the English game is the perfect place for his development. He is a top player who is assured a bright future and Chris Hughton must do everything in his power to bring the youngsters to the Amex.
