This Expensive Man Utd Target Would Be A Better Fit For Chelsea Than The Red Devils – Agreed?

Danny Rose

Why Chelsea And Not Manchester United Would Be The Better Destination For Tottenham’s Danny Rose

Tottenham Hotspur have a strong squad at their disposal and it got even stronger after two of their first-team stars in Danny Rose and Eric Lamela came back to full training right after the international break.

Both players have been suffering from long-term injuries and are yet to feature in a game this season but they are expected to be pushed into the first-team when fit. However, one of those players, Danny Rose, may not be at the club come the end of the season, especially after his interview in the summer about the lack of wage-benefits at the club.

The English full-back was the first choice for club and country not too long ago but lengthy injuries have prevented him from taking the field recently. He still remains one of the best full-backs in Europe but is now ready to quit Mauricio Pochettino’s side, for whatever reason it may be.

He was linked with a move to Manchester United and Chelsea in the summer transfer window but his injury seems to have prevented any move. But he is now back in action and reports suggest that the two English clubs will be back in for him in January. Spurs are also expected to sell, but where does Rose belong?

At Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho has failed to use a first choice left-back as the likes of Luke Shaw, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian have all been used in this role inconsistently. Neither of them has been able to cement a place in the first-team and Ashley Young has been used in this make-shift role, showing United’s problems at left-back.

At the Bridge, Antonio Conte has just one option at left wing-back in Marcos Alonso, who has been used in almost every game. There is no backup for him in the first-team and Conte has been vigorously looking for an option, with Alex Sandro topping his wish list.

However, the Brazilian is reportedly on the verge of signing a new deal with Juventus, thus making it difficult to sign him.

So both teams will be ready to offer Rose enough first-team opportunities and also enough chances to win trophies. However, at Chelsea, he may even push into the first-team, competing with Alonso, who has been great form this season.

Mourinho would love to have him in his side but Rose has a better shot at regular game time at Chelsea and playing as a wing-back is also going to get the best out of him in the future. At 27, he is reaching his prime as a footballer and would want to be an important part of a squad but with a star-studded United lineup, he will be reduced to a genuine full-back role.

At Chelsea though, he will turn into creator-in-chief on the flank, a role he is more accustomed to.

Danny Rose would be better off joining the Blues instead of the Red Devil’s.
