Messi crossed his 300th goal mark for club and countryThe match started in a usual fashion as Barcelona dominated large spells of possession and it was David Villa, who drew first blood, scoring the only goal of the first half . Lionel Messi gave Barca a clear advantage just three minutes after the break. Though Rayo Vallecano looked dangerous on counter attacks and showed some resistance, it was no stopping Messi and co. Xavi and Fabregas were also able to find the back of the net before Messi grabbed his second for the night in the closing stages of the game.
