England and Arsenal winger Theo Walcott is expected to miss both England’s game (vs Ukraine) and also Arsenal’s game against Southampton with a viral fever. England manager Roy Hodgson sent him back home to avoid it spreading throughout the England team.
Walcott to miss Southampton game tooHodgson said, “Theo has picked up some sort of virus and was he was totally ill last night.”
“We don’t want the virus spreading to others”
“That was one of the reasons why we were quite anxious to get Theo Walcott back home asap”
“The reason we have called up some extra players (Adam Lallana and Sterling) in just in case, because you never know. You could wake up tomorrow and find some other players are suffering from the virus, but we hope not.”
Meanwhile, Abou Diaby who is in good form recently may also miss the saints game with a muscle discomfort.
