The unique record Ronaldo now holds that not even Messi has achieved

Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest to have played the game of football and interestingly, he has been on top of his game for more than a decade now.

The 34-year-old has a trophy-laden career, winning everything at the club level. One of the most decorated footballers, Ronaldo also helped Portugal to European glory in 2016.

In his first season in Italy, he was crowned the best player of the league at the end of the 2018/19 Serie A season. And at the beginning of the new campaign, things didn’t go according to plan. Having scored just 5 in the first 10 league games, he has made a tremendous comeback.

His goal tally of 11 in the past 7 games have indeed helped him create another record. In the game against Parma, the hosts were made to sweat until the breakthrough came from their star forward.

A deflected shot into the post gave Ronaldo his 15th league goal of the season, which also added another record to his name.

The Portugal international is the only player in the top five European leagues to score 15 or more league goals consecutively for the past 14 seasons.

From the 2006/07 season to now, he has scored more than 15 league goals every season and even Lionel Messi has not achieved this feat yet. In the course of time, Ronaldo has played for Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Many considered him to have lost his goalscoring touch earlier in this campaign. A dull November month led to people declaring his decline. He has come a long way from the knee problems, substitutions and anger to become the second-highest top-scorer in Serie A this term, only behind Lazio’s Ciro Immobile.

Ronaldo truly is an inspiration and he gives wings to Juventus, who have not been all that dominant under Maurizio Sarri. Yet, they have managed to pip their opponents with the assistance of the 34-year-old’s brilliance up front.
