The Pros, Cons And The Best Starting XI, If Liverpool Sign This Mercurial Midfielder

We have witnessed this year that how well and fast Liverpool are improving under Klopp. Well, the time Liverpool announced the arrival of the German the transfer rumour floodgates were opened for the reds. Loads of Dortmund players were rumored to move to the premier league under their former coach.

Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in Mario Gotze

But, besides all those rumors, one which have interested all the footballing world has been the one of the World Cup winner Mario Gotze. The 23-year old midfielder had 4 amazing years at Dortmund under Klopp before he left for Bayern Munich. Gotze is in his third season with the Munich club and the question is still intact. Does the German World Cup hero has a long-term future at the club? Well, honestly, I don’t think so. Since joining the club, he has been hit by numerous injuries which kept him out of the action. Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, and Thomas Muller have always held starting berths and arrival of the likes of Chilean Arturo Vidal and the prodigious young Frenchman Kingsley Coman, has hampered his first team chances.

Gotze under Klopp, seems an interesting duo isn’t it? Signing Mario Gotze will be an achievement for Liverpool. The player is intelligent in every aspect of the game. At this very young age, he has an amazing experience of World-Class football. And due to his previous relationship with Jürgen Klopp, he won’t take much time to settle down at the club.

Mario is capable of playing in every midfield position whether it be an attacking one or a central one; name it, he can play it. He is also a cool finisher and an accurate passer and when he combines with the likes of Origi and Coutinho, it will be a treat to watch.

It will be hard for the German to adopt EPL’s nature as he might fall back in terms of physical strength, but he might cope eventually. He knows Klopp’s strategies and his style so it will be an easier task for him.

Mario has been struggling a lot to fit in the plans of Pep Guardiola and it will be for his good that he leaves the club. The pros of Mario Gotze joining Liverpool are plenty and I’m not giving you the same reason that they had a successful relationship before, but there is a hope that the Liverpool manager can yet again bring the best out of the player once he comes to his full fitness and is played at his preferred position.

Well, there will be some cons as well. If he joins Liverpool, someone has to be compromised and the majority of votes will say Adam Lallana. We have seen the form of Firmino, Coutinho and Origi under Klopp, but Lallana despite his resurgence might fall out of favour in the German arrives at Anfield. Mario Gotze can be deployed on the right wing or can be experimented by switching positions with Firmino playing at number 10.

Klopp himself is still not sure about a perfect formation and is experimenting constantly and I personally feel that Mario Gotze will surely act as a positive catalyst in Klopp’s experiments.

Here below, is the Liverpool’s lineup featuring Mario Gotze-

Goalkeeper: Ter-Stegen

Defence: Clyne; Sakho; Lovren; Moreno

Midfield: Gotze; Milner; Can; Firmino; Coutinho

Striker; Divock Origi
