The Premier League World Cup Eleven Featuring Arsenal & Chelsea Stars, None From Man United

Midfield:

Steven Gerrard plays in his new quarterback role in between the two centrebacks, trying to dictate the tempo from the deep. Mesut Ozil is definitely a key player for the Germans and Joachim Loew in particular would look for the Gunner’s intelligent layoffs for his lone striker up front. Loew has only gone with a specialist striker in Miroslav Klose which would mean Ozil would be given the license to play in a more advanced role for his country. Having come into the limelight in the previous edition of the competition, this is the time where Ozil inscribes his name in history helping the Germans to lift the coveted trophy for the first time since 1990.

Elsewhere, Oscar fits in the number ten role behind the front three for us as he will be the focal attacking point apart from Neymar for the Selecao. Eden Hazard who recently squashed speculations regarding the rumours that have linked him to PSG will start on the left wing as an inverted winger looking to cut inside with his trickery and make space for the overlapping defender to pulverize crosses in the penalty box.

Honorable mentions: Yaya Toure (Ivory Coast) David Silva (Spain)

Strikeforce:

Since we have preferred a 4-3-3 setup, we had to Fit In Aguero on the right as Mesut Ozil’s presence on the flanks would have completely taken the balance out of the setup. Edin Dzeko’s presence up front ahead of England’s Daniel Sturridge helps our cause, as the Bosnian is a brilliant runner off the ball, his intelligent movements will create space for Aguero to cut inside like he will do for Argentina playing from the left flank in Brazil.

Honorable mention: Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney.
