Liverpool opinion: Should Liverpool sign Reinier Jesus Carvalho?

According to Le10 sports, Liverpool are keen on signing 17-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Reinier Jesus Carvalho in the summer. AC Milan, Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester City have also been linked with the youngster who looks like he is the next Philippe Coutinho.

Liverpool are yet to replace Coutinho since the Brazilian moved to Barcelona. Jurgen Klopp’s side have struggled in attacking midfield this season with James Milner being their highest goalscoring midfielder. Reinier is by no means ready to be a first-team player for the Reds but is a brilliant investment for the future.

Flamengo have a brilliant history of producing brilliant young talents as recently evident with Vinicius Junior, who Real Madrid paid a fortune for.

Naturally a number 10, Reinier isn’t one who always sticks to his position and is seen all over the pitch. The 17-year-old loves the ball at his feet and often drops back to a number 6 position to take control of possession and drive forward.

Reinier is technically gifted like most young Brazilian footballers but his composure on the ball at just 17 years of age makes the future exciting for him and his country.

Coming from the land that has produced legends of the game, Reinier will be a part of Brazil’s next generation who are set to take the world by storm.

One thing that can be noticed in Reinier’s game is his ability to create space for his teammates. The Brazilian’s run takes two or three defenders with him, which creates a ton of space for his fellow attackers.

In terms of his runs, Reinier is very similar to Philippe Coutinho and just like his compatriot, he has the ability to shoot from distance. Reinier obviously has a long way to go in his career to get on the same level as the Barcelona man but he is taking the right path.

Conclusion

Still only 17, Reinier has a lot of time improve and develop the qualities required to make it at the top level and the time is right for him to move away to a bigger team in a tougher league.

Liverpool would be a fantastic destination for the Brazilian and Jurgen Klopp’s proven track record of improving young players should be enough to convince him.
