The Greatest Of All Time? Why This £34m Liverpool Star Has What It Takes To Reach The Milestone

The Best? Probably Yes! Mohamed Salah Can Become The Best Winger Of The Premier League Era And Here’s Why

Mohamed Salah was 21-years-old when he first came to the Premier League. Chelsea FC spent around £11m on the Egyptian winger after his impressive performances for Basel. Despite his excellent abilities as a footballer, Jose Mourinho just did not have a place for the winger in his first-team.

With Eden Hazard, Andre Schurrle and Willian as competition, Salah simply couldn’t force his way into the Chelsea first-team. After just one season at Stamford Bridge, Salah was sent out on loan to Fiorentina before being sold permanently to AS Roma in 2016.

However, this time around, Salah did not have any big players to compete with for a place in the team as he quickly established himself as one of the best wingers in Italy. Soon, Liverpool FC came knocking and priced him away from Roma for £34m, in a move which now seems like the deal of the century for the Merseyside club.

Despite being a winger, the 25-year-old Egyptian is the leading goalscorer in the Premier League with 9 goals, eclipsing expensive strikers like Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata. His blistering start to life at Liverpool has earned praise from some Liverpool legends like Jamie Carragher and Robbie Fowler, who believe Salah can become the best winger in the Premier League if he continues his progress.

Carragher, like many other football pundits, has labeled the Egyptian winger as “the signing of the season” and that he could eclipse the best wingers in the world in a few years.

He said: “You think of the great goalscoring wingers, and if he’s here for three or four years then he’s on the verge of eclipsing them all.”

It’s incredible how Mohamed Salah has managed to get himself going so quickly after making his switch to Anfield in the summer. Not many footballers have the ability to adapt so quickly to a new club or a league.

Salah’s double strike against Southampton established the quickest goals return in Reds history as he reached 14 goals in his first 18 starts. Even Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge did not have the kind of start that Salah is currently enjoying at Anfield.

These are just some of the signs that portray Salah as being capable of becoming the best in the League. His stats are already pointing towards an extremely successful career in the Premier League or perhaps the best.
