When Tottenham Hotspur went up against Ligue 1 side AS Monaco at White Hart Lane in mid-week, it was important that the Londoners went through as group leaders. The Premier League outfit were impressive in the game and managed to put one into the back of the opposition net, after just 2 minutes into the game. Erik Lamela scored the opening goal of the game and managed to add a second on the 15th and a third on the 37th minute of the match.

The second half was a tight contest when on the 61st minute of the game El Shaarawy added a consolation goal for the French side, as Carroll added a 4th for the North London side on the 77th minute.

The game concluded as it ended in a 4-1 victory for the hosts, who easily went through to the next round of the Europa League as group winners.
