Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool will push their Premier League rivals Manchester United to the limit in their pursuit for Barcelona’s Pedro, according to reports from Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo. Spanish media outlets have been reporting that both Liverpool and Arsenal were keen on signing the forward for the past two weeks with Liverpool trying to contact the player over a potential move to the Merseyside.

However, since then there has been a constant interest from the Red Devils, who look desperate to bring him to Old Trafford.

Now, claims from Spain say that United have made a move and a deal seems imminent, though Mundo Deportivo insist that they Merseyside club are still in the chase and are not ready to give up yet.

Pedro has been loyal to the European Champions, but has failed to get too much game time over the first-choice trio of Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar and could be leaving the Nou Camp this summer in search of first team football.

And talking about Pedro’s situation, his team-mate Sergio Busquets has hinted that he may leave Barcelona.

“Yes, I have spoken to him but I won’t tell you what he said. It was a private conversation.

“I would want him to stay, I would love him to stay. He is a friend of mine and it will be his final decision. He wants to play more and get more minutes. That’s what he wants.

“But we are in a team of great players and it’s hard for him. Finally it will be his decision but I hope he stays.”
