Swansea City opinion: Should the Swans go for Keinan Davis?
According to reports from the Birmingham Live, Swansea City are very keen on bringing Aston Villa youngster Keinan Davis. The 21-year-old has found game-time very hard to come by and that has affected his development, with Davis making just 7 appearances this season.
That is a massive downgrade from the 28 he made the previous season, with the attacker failing to find a way past Tammy Abraham. Things will get even worse now that Villa are in the Premier League, not to mention the fact that the club have already brought in Wesley Moraes.
The 22-year-old had a rather fantastic season with Club Brugge, finishing his time there with 27 goal contributions. This includes 17 goals and 10 assists, which is less than what only two Villa players managed.
However, it’s exactly why Keinan Davis needs to look for a way out. Sure, Oliver McBurnie had a rather impressive season netting 22 goals for the club, but barring that few others did.
Bersant Celina, Wayne Routledge and Connor Roberts came a distant second with 5 goals, giving the now departed Daniel James fifth place with four goals.
It shows their dependence on one single player and while McBurnie has contributed when needed, he needs backup. They need another striker to help him out; something that neither Joel Asoro, Courtney Baker-Richardson nor Botti Biabi have managed to do.
Together, the three forwards managed just three goals, with Baker-Richardson netting every single one. That showcases why the club needs Keinan Davis and the 21-year-old has shown the potential to become a reliable striker.
Much stronger and pacy than the boy who arrived at Villa, Davis is now showing what he can actually do. In the three years since he made the move to Villa Park, the 21-year-old has improved across the board.
Not only has his hold up play become significantly better, but thanks to his rather imposing 6’2” frame, Keinan Davis can be used as a target man. He has bulked up considerably, which has helped improve his aggression and also win his fair share of fights against the opposition.
Swansea City need someone like that and Keinan Davis’s towering frame will be a welcome addition for the Swans

Conclusion
Swansea City finished 10th in the Championship last season, losing out on a potential playoff spot thanks to inconsistent performances. However, they can make up for that by adding the right players this summer and Keinan Davis is the right man.
Even if it’s just a loan spell, the 21-year-old can make a definite impact at the club and will help McBurnie improve even more.
