August 29th – Dinner time kick off at the White Hart Lane will see the North London side going into the season after squandering two winning positions against oppositions they are expected to collect 3 points, but instead dropped 4 points. Mauricio Pochetino isn’t sure happy about the performances so far.
Harry Kane has been finding it hard to score goals without the supply and with Eriksen absent last weekend with a late injury, which could probably rule him out of this weekend’s game as well poses serious questions as to how Spurs are going to kickstart their campaign against an Everton side who have started quite well so far.
There is surely no doubt as to Hugo Lloris’s place in the side as keeper and skipper, the Frenchman is set to walk out the team once again.
Protecting the last line of defense, the Spurs manager might make a change at the back with England international, Kierren Trippier, recently signed from Burnley set to make his Premier League debut ahead of Kyle Walker. What Walker lacks is offering service to the attack from the flanks which Trippier is better at with his astute crossing.
Otherwise, the central pairing of Toby and Jan are set to continue with the duo arguably performing well except for minor errors which I hope they will not make for the sake of the club. Welsh international, Ben Davies will keep his place with Rose still not fully fit while he also hasn’t done much wrong to merit an exclusion.
Coming to the central midfield, Delle Alli might be handed a start this weekend after his goal scoring debut last weekend due to the probable absence of Danish playmaker, Eriksen. Else, the other choice that Pochetino has is, handing Cameroonian, N’jie a debut on the right flank with Dembele playing as the CAM. Eric Dier and Mason will keep their places as the double pivot with good showings in last two games and Nacer Chadli has so far been the most attacking threat for the home side and is set to continue on the left flank.
Argentine, Erik Lamela may not feature even on the bench after it was confirmed he was in talks with Inter Milan on a return to Italy. Sad that it didn’t work out for the kid who was dubbed the next Messi.
Up top, Harry Kane is set to keep his place though going 4 games without scoring, majorly due to the lack of quality service but with the inclusion of Clinton N’Jie, things might look brighter. Spurs will want to get their first win this weekend and what better place than at home.
