Superb Watkins, Solid Webster – The Best and the worst rated Bristol players in the 1-0 win vs Sheffield United

Bristol City Player Ratings vs Sheffield United – Here’s how the Robins fared

Bristol City continued their winning run in the Championship with a 1-0 win over Sheffield United at Aston Gate. Marley Watkins’ late headed goal gave the Robins a vital win over their opponents on the day.

The away side dominated the first half in which they missed a host of chances. However, the home team came back into it in the second period and should have had a goal before the late header. Finally, an 82nd-minute finish from Watkins sealed the points for Bristol.

Bristol City Player Ratings

Niki Maenpaa (7)

Was not called upon to make a flurry of saves, thanks to some wasteful shooting by David McGoldrick. Nevertheless, a solid performance and a clean sheet.

Jay DaSilva (7)

Made some good runs down the left-hand side which caused the opposition a few problems. Was defensively sound too.

Adam Webster (7.5)

Made some valuable contributions with vital interceptions and tackles.

Tomas Kalas (7.5)

A couple of sloppy moments but besides that, the Chelsea loanee was in command of everything.

Lloyd Kelly (7)

Was caught in no man’s land in the first half. Switched to left-back and looked comfortable.

Niclas Eliasson (6.5)

Began the game brightly, playing in a slightly different position. Got phased out a bit in the second half.

Marlon Pack (7.5)

A nervy start but came back well with good passing and probing balls in behind the defence. Was always a threat on the ball.

Josh Brownhill (6.5)

Worked hard in the midfield but without any end product.

Andreas Weimann

Andreas Weimann (7)

Was involved in the game, however, apart from that, he didn’t receive too much service to feed on.

Famara Diedhiou (6)

Held the ball well but wasn’t a threat to the Sheffield United centre-backs. More to come from him for sure.
