Liverpool Player Ratings vs Red Star Belgrade: Here’s how the Reds fared

Liverpool picked up an important 4-0 victory against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League as the Reds now sit on top of their group table with PSG drawing their game against Napoli. Jurgen Klopp’s men finally hit full throttle up front as they dominated the Serbian outfit.

Roberto Firmino opened the scoring for Liverpool before two goals from Mohamed Salah made him the fastest player to score 50 goals in the club’s history. Sadio Mane then turned in the fourth goal after missing a penalty, but the performance was enough to nullify the scuffed spot-kick.

Liverpool Player Ratings

Alisson Becker (5/10)

Rated low because the Brazilian was a spectator throughout the game and didn’t have to make a single save apart from playing out a couple of close passes.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (7/10)

Defended well all game but picked up a needless yellow card. His crossing wasn’t at its best though.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Virgil Van Dijk (8/10)

Another supreme defensive performance from Liverpool’s captain on the night. It seems as though Van Dijk just doesn’t have bad games.

Joe Gomez (8/10)

Gomez is proving to be a brilliant partner for Van Dijk. The youngster used his pace to cut out a number of passes.

Andrew Robertson (8/10)

Superb performance from the Scottish international who marauded up and down the field. Robertson picked up the assist for Firmino’s goal as well.

Xherdan Shaqiri (8/10)

Undoubtedly the best performance from Shaqiri in a Liverpool kit. His passing was sublime on the night and the former Stoke City midfielder covered a lot of ground as well.

Fabinho (7/10)

After making a shaky start to the game, Fabinho showed why Liverpool signed him. He was defensively resilient while he also seamlessly distributed the ball.

Georginio Wijnaldum

Georginio Wijnaldum (6/10)

Wijnaldum did well defensively but the Dutchman really needs to provide more conviction going forward.

Mohamed Salah (7/10)

The Egyptian is now the fastest Liverpool player to score 50 goals, but he did scupper a couple of good chances.

Roberto Firmino (7/10)

A much better performance from the Brazilian who has failed to hit his high standards this season. Firmino is proving to be a massive asset in the Champions League though.

Sadio Mane (6/10)

Despite scoring the final goal, Mane wasted a number of good chances on the night and saw his penalty get saved by the Red Star goalkeeper.

Sadio Mane

Substitutes

Adam Lallana (6/10)

A decent performance from Lallana who picked the right passes and came close to finding the back of the net.

Daniel Sturridge (7/10)

Made an immediate impact after coming on and picked up the assist for Mane’s goal.

Alberto Moreno (N/A)

The Spaniard didn’t have too much time to influence the game.
