Leicester City Player Ratings vs Cardiff City – Here’s how the Foxes fared

Leicester City played with pride and sheer will to nick a 1-0 win at Cardiff City in Wales in an emotional afternoon for the Foxes. On the day where football felt irrelevant, both of sets of players, fans and the coaching staff got together to pay their tribute to the five lives lost in a tragic helicopter crash outside the King Power Stadium, which also included the death Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

However, the Foxes looked determined to get a positive result and Demarai Gray ensured with a low drive early in the second half to score the only goal of the game. The players were emotional after the final whistle and manager Claude Puel should be proud they got the three points amidst all this.

This win puts them 10th in the table, while Cardiff City touch relegation again.

The Portuguese looked secure while defending and made some good runs forward.

Wes Morgan

Wes Morgan (8)

Dealt with pretty much everything that Cardiff threw at him. An unerring display from the skipper.

Harry Maguire (6)

Started the game well but had to be subbed off in the 27th minute due to an injury. Very unfortunate.

Battled hard in the midfield and got a few exchanges in his favour. Kept trying in both halves.

James Maddison (6)

Showed some nice touches in between but went missing most of the time. One of his few bad outings of this season.

Marc Albrighton (6.5)

He was always looking to get the ball into the box and worked hard all game. The final product was lacking at times.

Jamie Vardy

Jamie Vardy (6)

Worked hard for the team but couldn’t find himself a goal to match that performance.

Jonny Evans (Subbed on after 27 mins) (7)

Came on for the injured Maguire and slotted in well alongside Morgan. Should have scored to double the lead.

Danny Simpson (Subbed on after 70 mins) (6)

Came on to add defensive sturdiness late on.
