Liverpool Player Ratings vs Huddersfield: Here’s how the Reds fared

Liverpool returned to winning ways after picking up a 1-0 win against Huddersfield Town in the Premier League. Though the Reds were not up to their best, Jurgen Klopp’s men wrapped up all three points, courtesy of a cool finish from Mohamed Salah.

Huddersfield managed to threaten on one or two occasions but were otherwise largely frustrated by a rigid Liverpool backline.

Liverpool Player Ratings

Alisson Becker (7/10)

Another calm and commanding performance from the Brazilian who made one or two important saves. Depoitre almost closed him down on one instance but Alisson managed to clear his lines.

Alisson

Joe Gomez (8/10)

Another impressive display from Gomez who proved to be great on the flanks as well. He played a superb pass to Xherdan Shaqiri before the Swiss international teed up Salah.

Dejan Lovren (7/10)

A disciplined display from Dejan Lovren, who really has stepped up his performances since the World Cup in Russia.

Virgil Van Dijk (8/10)

Another superb performance from the Dutchman who never seems fazed at the back. Just one fluttered clearance and apart from that, he was pretty much flawless.

Andrew Robertson (8/10)

Robertson marauded forward time and time again but was unable to produce the end product. He was defensively solid.

Xherdan Shaqiri (8/10)

A brilliant performance from the Swiss international who picked up the assist for Salah’s goal. His passing was exquisite too.

Jordan Henderson (5/10)

Apart from playing a few simple passes, Liverpool’s captain was barely a presence in this game.

James Milner (6/10)

Milner worked hard as he always does in the middle of the park. He defended well but was unable to help the attack.

Mohamed Salah (7/10)

A much better performance from the Egyptian. Salah scored the winning goal but was guilty of wasting a good chance late into the second half.

Daniel Sturridge (6/10)

Sturridge linked up well in the final third but didn’t seem to threaten the Huddersfield goal much.

Daniel Sturridge

Adam Lallana (6/10)

Lallana twisted and turned as he held onto the ball well, but the midfielder failed to provide much going forward.

Substitutes

Georginio Wijnaldum (6/10)

Wijnaldum gave away the ball cheaply on a few occasions but the midfielder was good with ball retention and distribution.

Fabinho (6/10)

The Brazilian came on and distributed the ball well in the middle of the park. He didn’t have much to do apart from that.

Roberto Firmino (5/10)

Firmino was off the pace and played a couple of misplaced passes.
