Pochettino Can Look To Sign These Talented Wingers In The Summer

Tottenham Hotspur have gone on to become one of the strongest teams in the Premier League in the past two years. After coming so close to the title last time around, only to watch it slip away in the final stages, the North Londoners find themselves in a position where they can still have a shot at the trophy.

Spurs currently occupy the 2nd place in the league standings, 7 points behind leaders Chelsea. With still 5 weeks of action left in the top division, Tottenham are well within a chance if the Blues slip up in the coming weeks.

Whether they win it or not this season, Tottenham look set to continue their dominant run in the domestic scenes for years to come. Their transfer policy of signing young players in recent years to oversee their developments has been a hit and miss. But manager Mauricio Pochettino is a big proponent of promoting young talent and in that regard, we look at two very promising youngsters who Tottenham should target in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Ryan Sessegnon

The 16-year old is making all sorts of noises in the EFL Championship with another London club, Fulham, and has attracted interest from all the big clubs in the Premier League including Tottenham.

Sessegnon has been excellent in recent weeks for the Cottagers and has scored 6 goals and set up 3 more strikes in 26 appearances across all competitions. These are excellent returns for a full-back and it makes for an even better reading when one takes his age into account.

Being touted as the next Gareth Bale by the media, the left-back is clearly a huge talent with great attacking intent and will be perfectly suited to the wing-back role in the 3-4-3 system that Tottenham have deployed at times this season. A strong dribbler, with raw pace and energy to burn, Sessegnon could prove to be a great addition for Tottenham in the coming years.

Kasper Dolberg

19-year Kasper Dolberg shot to fame in November last year, when he scored an 18-minute hat-trick against Nijmegen for Dutch club Ajax.

A right-footed striker, who was spotted by the scout who is credited with unearthing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Christian Eriksen, Dolberg has been on the books of Ajax since 2015, and has broken through to the senior team this season and has been scoring at free will. He has already netted 18 times this term from 40 appearances and has chalked up 7 assists as well.

Dolberg has all the tools to grow into one of the finest forwards in the game, from his physical frame to his willingness to be both goalscorer and provider. He has the pace, the power and the technical ability to hurt teams. The 19-year-old has already been capped by the Denmark senior team and sky seems to be the limit for this youngster. Tottenham could very well use someone with his goal-scoring calibre in the side to ease some pressure on Harry Kane.

What about Vincent Janssen? Well, he wouldn’t go anywhere. Having 3 strikers competing for one place isn’t a bad prospect maybe?
