Predicted Liverpool Lineup To Face West Ham United
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool faced a stern test against Southampton last weekend, where they came out with nothing more than a point. They are still in with a shot of qualifying for the Champions League next season but face an even tougher task as they travel to a reinvigorated London stadium this weekend to face Slaven Bilic’s West Ham side.
The Hammers are fresh from a victory over Spurs in the previous round and will be high on confidence going into this game. Both teams have had inconsistent seasons and can produce a thriller this weekend.
Team News
The Reds are still without the services of skipper Jordan Henderson ahead of this tie. Sadio Mane and Danny Ings remain sidelined and are the only injury issues ahead of this tie.
Probable Liverpool XI:
Formation: 4-3-3
Manager: Jurgen Klopp
GK – Simon Mignolet
The Belgian has been impeccable this season for Liverpool and should keep his place in the side for this game.
RB – Nathaniel Clyne
Though solid at the back, Clyne has to do a lot more going while going for the attack if his side are to take anything from this game.
CB – Joel Matip
The summer buy for Liverpool has been consistent at the back but he will have to be alert as the West Ham attackers are capable of scoring some stunners.
CB – Dejan Lovren
The former Southampton man had a decent outing in the last round and will hope to keep the Hammers quiet in this game.
LB – James Milner
Missed the penalty that robbed Liverpool of two points but has been solid at both ends of the field and should keep his place for this tie.
CDM – Emre Can
Though Lucas Leiva has been decent, Can should be pushed back into this role to add some creativity to the midfield for the side.
CM – Georginio Wijnaldum
The Dutch international had a forgettable game against Southampton and will hope to have more of an impact against the Hammers.
CM – Adam Lallana
Came off the bench in the last couple of games to good effect and it might be time for Klopp to start him in this tie.
RW – Daniel Sturridge
Sturridge did some damage late in the game against Southampton and should be given a chance to start the game for Liverpool.
LW – Philippe Coutinho
Had an ordinary game against Southampton and Liverpool will need him to be at his best to take anything from this game.
CF – Roberto Firmino
Firmino has lead the line for the Reds but hasn’t been the hotshot striker who fires teams to titles. Nevertheless, he has done a decent job for his team and will start up front.
