Strongest Possible Manchester United’s Line Up To Face Norwich – Fosu-Mensah And Darmian To Start

After a 1-1 draw with Leicester City at Old Trafford last time out, Manchester United will be looking to continue their fine run of form as they will be visiting Carrow Road to face Alex Neil’s side Norwich City.

Manchester United doesn’t share a great memory with Norwich city as when the last time the two sides met in the league, Alexander Tettey was the man for Norwich, who scored the winner for the visitors as they marked their first ever victory at the Old Trafford.

Manchester United in their last game, took the lead, but was unable to hold on to it for long and eventually had to settle down with a point. The Devils are currently 5th on the table, 4 points behind the city rivals Manchester City and have a game in hand. Norwich, on the other hand, are currently the relegation contenders as they sit 19th on the table.

It is a must win game for both the sides as victory for United would bring them closer to the fourth spot, and a victory for Norwich would minimize their chance of being relegated. Looking at the club’s recent results, United have the upper hand in the fixture as the side has won 4 of their last 6 games in the premier league. Furthermore, Norwich has won just 2 of their last 6 games and have lost thrice.

Here is the predicted lineup for Manchester United that could face Norwich City at Carrow Road this Saturday-

Goalkeeper: David De Gea-

The player of the year for Manchester United has been exceptional between the sticks the entire season. United does have an option in form of Romero, but the sides needs the three points, and cannot afford a single mistake in any area. Hence De Gea.

Defence: Fosu- Mensah; Smalling; Blind; Darmian-

The Dutch manager might go for different full backs this time out. Valencia is in good form recently, but we cannot overlook the performance of Timothy Fosu-Mensah as well. He is tough in his defending, and offensively, he is very useful as well. Smalling and Blind will take their place as usual and will guard the United’s post. Rojo has been struggling a lot lately and it won’t be a shock to see him replaced by the Italian full-back Matteo Darmian, whose goal against Crystal Palace was such a delight to watch.

Midfielders: Mata; Carrick; Schneiderlin; Rooney; Martial-

Lingard didn’t have much impact on the last game, and was eventually replaced by the Spanish international, Juan Mata. Mata might start the next game for United and might play in the right wing with Fosu-Mensah in his support. Fellaini may face a ban for elbowing Huth in the last game, and hence Schneiderlin will get his chance to play alongside Michael Carrick in the heart of the team. Rooney is such a versatile player, and might play in the center of the park supporting the attack and the defence. Martial as usual will be deployed on the left flank, and continue his runs from there.

Striker: Marcus Rashford-

The young Englishman is in a great form, and it won’t be surprise to see him leading the lines of this great football club. He didn’t have much effect on the previous game, but is now an important player for the team and cannot be dropped because of one bad game.
