Strongest Possible Manchester United XI to Face Leicester: Lingard and Martial to Start

After playing out to a dull goalless draw against PSV at home in the Champions League group stage match, Manchester United travel to Leicester to face table toppers Leicester City in a top of the table clash in the Premier League. The Red Devils will be without Luke Shaw, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia because of their respective injury while Phil Jones remains doubtful for the game. This is how the Red Devils will line up for to face West Brom:

There is no second thoughts on Spanish custodian David de Gea being the goalkeeper for  Manchester United ahead of Argentine Sergio Romero. In the defence, Dutchman Daley Blind will partner Chris Smalling. Both Blind and Smalling have been a force to reckon with and will hope to continue to be the same against West Brom. They will be crucial to United’s chances as they will look to stop the threat of in-form Leicester attack that has the likes of Riyadh Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and Okazaki. Matteo Darmian will be the right-back while Marcos Rojo will take care of the left.

After an injury to Michael Carrick, Morgan Schneiderlin is set to partner Bastian Schweinsteiger as the holding midfielder. Jesse Lingard’s brilliant performance in the recent matches might earn him a place in the XI as a right winger with Juan Mata returning to the lineup after getting a much-deserved break. Mata will play in the right side and skipper Wayne Rooney will play as the attacking midfielder.

So it is likely that Martial will be back to his role ass the striker with Rooney playing as the number 10 with Memphis Depay set to leave way for the skipper.
