Strongest Possible Arsenal Line Up To Face Bayern Munich: Ox and Cech to Start

Arsenal will look to carry on their winning run in the Premier League to the UEFA Champions League, where the Gunners are fighting for survival. After losing to Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiakos, Arsenal host German Giants Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium. How will they line-up for the clash? Here is their possible playing XI

Goalkeeper: Petr Cech

Arsene Wenger will not risk 3 points by playing Colombia’s David Ospina in front of the goal. So, it is certain that new signing Petr Cech will be the Arsenal goalkeeper for the all-important clash.

Defence: Hector Bellerín, Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal

Wenger should not take risks in this game by resting his first-choice defenders and play his reserve defenders instead. None of the Arsenal’s back four was in action in the International break and deserved to be rested for the crucial tie. This means Per Mertesacker will start alongside Koscielny at the back while the Spaniards Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal will be first choice right-back and left-back respectively.

Midfield: Francis Coquelin, Santi Cazorla, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mesut Özil and Alexis Sánchez

Arsene Wenger will not take any chances and will play Frenchman Francis Coquelin ahead of Mikel Arteta. Santi Cazorla is expected to start alongside Coquelin at the base of the midfield and has a crucial role to play for the Gunners. English winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will start ahead of Aaron Ramsey as the Welshman deserve some rest after helping his national side Wales to qualify for the 2016 Euros. Ox also had a great game against the German outfit when the two teams met each other a couple of seasons back. He will start in the right side with Arsenal’s in-form hitman Alexis Sanchez starting on the left. Mesut Ozil will be deployed right behind the striker in the number 10 role, he has been in brilliant form this season.

Attack: Theo Walcott

England’s Theo Walcott will once again start ahead of French striker Olivier Giroud up front. His speed is exactly what will be needed against Bayern’s defence and hopefully, he will convert some of the chances that will be created.
