He has great pace and a strong physical built and that’s why he is the favourite contender for the position. Smalling and Blind have been performing really well. Blind have silenced all his critics and the Dutch captain is surely enjoying his time with Smalling at the back. Darmian had a great game against Crystal Palace, but he has not been a consistent performer and hence, the young Dutch might get his chance.
Midfielder: Carrick; Schneiderlin; Rooney-
4-3-3 formation worked for Manchester United and had positive results as well. United will have to be well disciplined in their defence and for that, Michael Carrick will be a good option instead of Fellaini for the Dutch. Schneiderlin will support Carrick in the heart of the pitch and Rooney could help the strikers up front and drop back when in need.
