Strongest Manchester United XI To Feature In The Manchester Derby: Fellaini And Carrick To Continue In Pivot

Thursday night saw Manchester United getting knocked out of Europe in a dismal fashion but they would have to put that off their minds soon enough because one of the biggest matches of their season is looming large. Manchester City, their bitter enemies from the same city will host Manchester United at the Etihad stadium which is expected to be a massive game for each of the sides, who are looking to finish in the top four and earn a UEFA Champions League birth.

Manchester United come into the match with two draws, two losses and two wins while Manchester City on the other hand, have experienced three draws in their previous six games and won twice.  A win for Manchester United is more crucial because, in the points table, they sit at the 6th position uncomfortably, behind West Ham but 4 points behind the 4th placed City and a win would put them right behind city and right into the top four contention, but Manchester City on the other hand, will be more determined to leap above Arsenal and secure their top-four place. However our focus will be only on the red club from Manchester today and how they will line up to pose a difficult stance in front of the citizens.

Teams News:-

* Manchester United will miss the services of Ashley Young who’s still recovering from his injury.
*Luke Shaw is well on the path of fitness but it’s evident that he won’t be returning until few more weeks.
*Wayne Rooney’s injury has been deemed as a long term one and United will be without their captain.

Predicted Playing Eleven of Manchester United:-

United lineup

Louis Van Gaal is expected to make little changes in the squad and we predict that Matteo Darmian will come in instead of Varela who looked really low against Liverpool. In the forward region, Ander Herrera’s presence will be a big boost again as he shrugs off his injury to become available for selection again. Mata’s and Herrera’s chemistry might once again come alive and as usual, Anthony Martial will be expected to deliver coupled with United’s young starlet Jesse Lingard.

Michael Carrick and Fellaini by the looks of it, continue to play the role of the double pivots and at the back, once again, Smalling and Blind will form a partnership and they will be trying their best against the likes of Aguero and David Silva.
