The Strongest Manchester United XI To Face Palace: LVG May Rest Few Players For The FA Cup Game

After their fortuitous victory against Villa, Louis Van Gaal’s side will be welcoming Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace. Palace had a good game at Emirates and were happy to settle down with a point against Arsenal.

Rooney came back into the starting XI for United in their last game and played a major role in United’s only goal against Villains. On the other hand, Palace’s Yannick Bolasie ended Arsenal’s title hope as he scored a breathtaking equalizer through a brilliant finish to beat Petr Cech. United are just 4 points behind Arsenal and will be looking down to close their gap to achieve their target of finishing in the top 4 spot. Palace, on the other hand, are currently 16th on the table but a win would take them above Everton i.e 12th.

Comparing both the sides according to their recent performances, United have won 4 out of their last 6 games whereas, Palace have just 1 out of their last 6 games. So, clearly United have the upper hand in this game.

Here is the Predicted Lineup for Manchester United that could face Crystal Palace-

Goalkeeper: David De Gea-

Unarguably, the best in his business. Didn’t had much work to in the first half against Villa but, was tested in the second half and he proved yet again what he is capable of. Number 1 choice for this position for the manager and is surely going to start the game.

Defence: Valencia, Smalling, Blind, Fosu-Mensah-

Valencia did a great job in terms of supporting the attacks but, was lose in defending. Left so much of space which Smalling had to cover eventually. Smalling and Blind had a decent game and like De Gea, he didn’t had much to do in the first half but, had to work in the last dying minutes of the second half. Blind made a crucial interception to deny Villa’s best chance that could well have been a goal. Mensah was rested on the bench against Villa but might start the next game and could well again show his qualities.

Midfielders: Mata, Carrick, Schneiderlin, Rooney, Memphis-

Mata did a great job in his last game and is a great playmaker for United. Played some crucial through balls that United couldn’t strikers capitalize. Carrick didn’t start the last game and was not even on the bench. But, as United will be facing Everton for their next round of the FA Cup, the manager might rest Fellaini and introduce Carrick instead. As the team will be looking to win FA cup they will rest some of their best players including Martial and Lingard. Memphis didn’t have a great game against Villa but is most likely to start yet again alongside Rooney.

Striker: Marcos Rashford-

The only goal scorer in the last game for United. He has been saving Van Gaal’s job from a long time. He is the best attacking option for United currently. Surely, a starter.
