Strongest Liverpool XI To Face Chelsea: Star Squad To Return

After quite an easy win against the struggling Watford side, Jurgen Klopp’s men will be preparing to welcome the struggling Chelsea at Anfield this Thursday.

No one can argue over the fact, that Liverpool have been giving some great performances lately and the arrival of Jurgen Klopp is the only reason behind the same. Furthermore, the same cannot be stated for their oppositions (Chelsea) as their campaign has gone from bad to worst. Chelsea will be trying to finish their campaign as high as possible, but a recent defeat against Sunderland has surely demoralized the team.

Liverpool have a great record at Anfield against Chelsea and the side will be looking to continue the trait and snatch a win from Chelsea in the game. Well, the last time these two sides met, it was Liverpool who got the better of Chelsea as the Reds defeated the Blues by 3 goals to nil at Stamford Bridge and they will be hoping to replicate the same result in the following fixture.

It is Liverpool who are having a firm hand in the fixture as the side has managed to win 4 of their last 6 games and have grabbed 13 points out of 18 possible. Chelsea, on the other hand, have just 2 win in their last 6 games and have just 7 points from the possible 18.

Here is the Predicted lineup for Liverpool that could face Chelsea this Thursday-

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet-

The Belgian was rarely tested in his last game, but made a heroic save to deny Ighalo. Though he has not been the finest goalkeeper for the team this term, he will be starting for the Reds for sure. Danny Ward is also a good option for the side, but the manager will surely go for an experienced man in the fixture like this.

Defence: Clyne; Lovren; Toure; Moreno-

Clyne was rested in the game against Watford last weekend and so, Clyne will surely be taking over his place at the right back position. None of the mentioned center backs featured in the game against Watford, and hence, we expect to see Toure alongside Lovren to start as center backs. Moreno produced a great performance against Watford, where he helped the attack and the defence as well. The Spanish full back is a serious threat when it comes to the overlapping runs on the wings, but he needs to work on his defending as he looks sloppy at times, and while facing Willian, he cannot afford to make a single mistake in the game.

Midfielders: Lallana; Can; Milner; Firmino; Coutinho-

Adam Lallana was rested in the last game and is very likely to start this midweek game. He has been a great performer for the squad and will be an important link for Klopp’s attacking plans against Chelsea. Can and Milner both were rested and it is obvious, that the duo will be featuring against the Blues and will cause problems to the opposition’s attack. Can will operate as a holding midfielder and the ex- Manchester City man James Milner will be roaming around the park with is untiring work rate. The Brazilian duo (Coutinho and Firmino) has been brilliant this year, and Klopp will be looking to go with the duo to give a serious headache to Chelsea’s defence, who will be without their skipper, John Terry.

Striker: Sturridge-

The Englishman was also benched and Benteke was given the chance in the last game. Unfortunately, the Belgian failed to produce a promising performance, and therefore, the German tactician will surely replace Benteke with Sturridge who will be motivated to facing his previous club at Anfield.
