Strongest Liverpool Lineup When Everyone are Fit: Sturridge and Benteke Up Front ?

Liverpool Klopp

The international break might have come at the right time for Jurgen Klopp, although the team did lose to Crystal Palace before the break, the German will be happy with the fact that he could be welcoming a few players back into the team.

The German hasn’t spent a lot of time at the club, but injuries have plagued his tenure at the helm. Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson, Christian Benteke, James Milner, Danny Ings, Joe Gomez and Mamadou Sakho, to name a few, have all picked up various injuries through the campaign, but Klopp will be hopeful that Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson would be fit enough to play a part against Manchester City this weekend.

With injuries such a big part of the football world nowadays, we try to provide the strongest lineup for the Reds if everyone is fit.

Simon Mignolet

To be fair, Mignolet has done pretty well since the turn of the year and has kept a good number of clean sheets, though his issue has been his distribution and coming out to collect the ball. The Belgian goalkeeper is the only option that Liverpool have and he should be the one to play in goal.

Alberto Moreno

The Spaniard has looked like the player that was wanted by many clubs during his time at Sevilla. Playing under Klopp, and the injury suffered to Joe Gomez, might have opened doors for him and Moreno looks like he can speed past Roadrunner at this moment.

Martin Skrtel

Martin Skrtel seems to have survived many transitions at Liverpool, Rafa Benitez, Brendan Rodgers and now Jurgen Klopp but the Slovakian defender is certainly one of the best in the league and with over 300 appearances for the Reds, he should be part of the central defence.

Mamadou Sakho

He might not have been the favourite under Rodgers, but Sakho has shown that he is the best defender Liverpool have, even though his passing is a bit awkward. The French international is the partner for Skrtel and if he recovers from his injury, he could well be the force we hoped to have in the heart of the Liverpool defence.

Nathaniel Clyne

A Southampton product but this one is doing pretty well, Clyne wasn’t the most expensive signing, but he seems to be one of the most consistent players in the league and easily is Liverpool’s best right-back.

Emre Can

The German tank should make it into the team; the choice would be between Lucas Leiva and Can, but Can would just about make it into the team thanks to his performances for Liverpool this season.

James Milner

A player who has been playing out of position or well not his preferred position in a more attacking role, Milner is the epitome of what a Jurgen Klopp player does. He runs, has a lot of energy and is willing to do a lot for the team. Milner also has a great passing range and is thus part of the best Liverpool team that Klopp can put out.

Jordan Henderson

The Captain of the team cannot be left out, although Henderson hasn’t looked the best since Liverpool’s title run-in, Klopp would be hopeful of getting Henderson back in the team as he gives them that running and energy that Klopp’s teams are known for.

Philippe Coutinho

A bit hot and a bit cold, Coutinho’s form at Liverpool has been extremely erratic but he can turn on the magic in a second as shown against Stoke and Chelsea. The diminutive Brazilian is one of the sparks for the Liverpool team and has to play in their strongest team.

Daniel Sturridge

The Glassman who can finish like an Iceman, Daniel Sturridge is one frustrating figure, he has 42 goals for Liverpool from just 69 games, an impressive stat, but he has played those games in three complete seasons. If only Sturridge was fit to play regularly, we could see something even better from the Englishman.

Christian Benteke

The Big Belgian would provide great support to Sturridge and also give them a plan B. Although his time at the club has been plagued with a few niggling injuries, he has shown that scoring goals isn’t a problem for him and he knows when to score as well, the overhead kick against Manchester United and playing a huge role against Chelsea, if he stays fit, he could form a great partnership with Daniel.
