Strongest Arsenal XI To Face Bournemouth: Elneny To Start Instead Of Flamini

Predicted Arsenal Lineup vs Bournemouth

A confident Bournemouth will entertain a stuttering Arsenal side looking to recover from a run of four Premier League games without a win. Eddie Howe’s men however, are on a very good run after 7 points from their last three games. Arsenal have been struggling for form in recent weeks and Tuesday’s draw against Southampton means that Arsene Wenger’s men have failed to score in their last three Premier League games. The north London team will desperate for a win come Sunday afternoon.

Goalkeeper: Petr Cech

One of the reasons why everybody tipped Arsenal to win the Premier League a few weeks ago was the presence of this man in the goal. He has been superb again this season and has successfully kept Arsenal in the title hunt. When fit, there is no doubt that Cech will start.

Defenders: Nacho Monreal, Hector Bellerin, L Koscielny and Paulista

Gabriel Paulista
Gabriel Paulista

Paulista will look to keep his place in the side ahead of Mertesacker who will have to be content with a place on the bench. Koscielny will start alongside Paulista in the middle. Although both of them looked shaky during the match against Southampton, they managed to keep a clean sheet which would have definitely boosted their confidence. Nacho Monreal is one of the first names on the team sheet now a day’s given that he is having an excellent season at the back. On the other side, Bellerin will keep his place in the team. He has struggled off late but the recent departure of Debuchy leaves Wenger with a little option on that side.

Midfielders: Elneny, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Campbell

It’s very clear that Flamini isn’t the perfect option to shield the back four, therefore, one feels that Wenger might want to start Elneny for this match. The partnership of Flamini and Ramsey haven’t matched up to the standards set by Coquelin and Cazorla, hence a change is required. Coquelin might have to stay on the bench for this game. One thing which was excellent during Tuesday’s game was the link up play between Ozil and Sanchez. Some of the control and passing between the two is just mesmerizing. They will stay in the team along with Joel Campbell who had a quite last game but given the lack of form of other players, should manage to hold onto his place in the starting eleven.

Striker: O. Giroud

With Walcott struggling to find any sort of form, Giroud should keep his place up front against Bournemouth. The goals have dried up for Arsenal recently, so, it is vital for Giroud to finish the opportunities he gets otherwise it could turn ugly for Arsenal in the title race very quickly.
