Strongest Arsenal Lineup To Face Aston Villa – Time To Unleash Gnabry

Arsenal strongest Line up against Aston Villa

Monday’s late night kick off sees Premier league leaders travel to the Villa Park to take on a highly unpredictable Aston Villa side. Paul Lambert’s men currently sit eleventh in the Premier League table and will be looking to get over their FA Cup’s third round shock loss to Sheffield United. The Claret and Blue however, however haven’t been good at home this season but will be looking to change the stats as they take on the high flying Gunners.

Arsene Wenger’s team cannot drop any more points in the quest for their title ambitions and will be looking to bag three points as they travel away from home. Arsenal come into the game at the back of a 2-0 win against Tottenham in the third round of the FA Cup and the vociferous faithful would be hoping they get the job done at Villa Park. So what will be Wenger’s best possible eleven be on Monday? We here at Soccersouls provide our readers with the Gunners’ best eleven.

Goalkeeping and Defence

Lukasz Fabianski started against Tottenham but the fellow Pole is expected to be replaced his countryman Wojciech Szczesny in goal. Aston Villa are a side who can certainly score against any opponents and with the likes of Benteke and Agbnlahor up front, Szczesny has to be more than aware of not letting anything past him at the back of the net.

Sagna

With Kieran Gibbs having little chance to return to the starting line up, Nacho Monreal will start on the left with Bacary Sagna on the right back role. The central defensive partnership will however, be the same with the French-German duo in Per Mertasacker and Laurient Koscielny. Both of them have been solid at the back and if Arsenal are to win on Monday, both of them need to get a good shift in.

Midfield

Gnabry

Its pity to see Theo Walcott ruled out for six months and Wenger will have options to choose from. Sergie Gnabry who was amazing against Tottenham should start the game. His pace and power dribbles would trouble Aston Villa defence for sure. Arteta and Wilshere are expected to feature in the middle with Cazorla in the left, Ozil should take up his favorite position, as No 10. Ozil’s presence will provide an enormous impetus on the squad. Cazorla with his exquisite reading of the game will start from the left. Ox will also be in contention (at-least for bench) after the young Englishman resumed full training after a lengthy time spent on the sidelines.

Strike Force:

Giroud

Oliver Giroud is back after missing last two games while Nikolas Bendtner is out injured. Lukas Podolski  may come into action as a substitute if things don’t go well according to the plans. The German has a ferocious left foot that can test any top defence in Europe.

Much of the match will be decided on which team moves the ball well and one can expect Arsenal to dominate this game from the word ‘go’.

Predicted Lineup

Szczesny
Sagna – Mertesacker – Koscielny – Monreal
Arteta – Wilshere
Gnabry – Ozil – Cazorla
Giroud
