Strongest Arsenal Lineup To Face The Championship League Leaders: Alex Iwobi To Play Behind Walcott

At the Emirates, right in the stoppage time, with Adrenaline running high in every player, they finally scored a goal through Danny Welbeck and this kind of goal would have been only seen in the dreams. Yes. I’m talking about Arsenal and their incredible win over the league leaders Leicester City to push their hopes of the league title to a further level.

However not every time does the league matter because tournaments like FA Cup lure teams from every division and give them hopes of winning it. We shall soon find out the passion and the desire this weekend when the championship leaders Hull City travel to London to face an Arsenal side which is high on confidence and morale.  Arsenal have won their previous two league games after a surprising winless streak of four games.

Our focus however, is only on Arsenal. What will their team be like against the tigers with a crucial game against Manchester United looming large?

TEAM NEWS:-

Arsene Wenger made it clear that he will stage an Arsenal side that has the capability of qualifying for the next round.

*Gabriel Paulista is expected to miss out this game against Hull due to fitness reasons.
* We are unclear about the condition of Laurent Koscielny because the player was substituted against Leicester and it all depends on a fitness test before the game that will decide whether he will take part in the game or not.
* Mohamed Elneny was described as a good player by Arsene Wenger and looks like he’s all set to finally get his most awaited debut.

Predicted line-up of Arsenal:

GK: David Ospina

David Ospina is expected to start the game against Hull and we may finally see Petr Cech getting a deserved break ahead of a crucial league tie coming up with Manchester United. It is vital for Arsenal to get their best goal keeper and give him a rest. Ospina has faired well whenever he was selected and Arsenal fans will hope he’ll come good against a top championship opponent.

RB: Hector Bellerin

Hector Bellerin
Hector Bellerin

Hector Bellerin is the only Right Back arsenal can rely on at the moment with Debuchy unlikely to start any game and on another side Callum Chambers is expected to partner Per Mertesacker as a centre back. Hector Bellerin’s clever football and marvellous pace will definitely come in handy for Arsenal at any moment!

CB(s): Callum Chambers and Per Mertesacker

as mentioned earlier, Gabriel will miss out the tie due to fitness reasons and Arsene Wenger will certainly not risk Laurent Koscielny on Saturday. The responsibility is bestowed upon a young Callum Chambers to fill the gap and team up with Mertesacker to ensure that goals are kept away and to ensure that Arsenal win the game with a clean sheet.

LB: Kieran Gibbs

Nacho Monreal is expected to get a rest after it is rumoured that he suffered a minor knock against Leicester and since Kieran Gibbs is fit, he’s likely to start. Safe to say that Arsenal have really good fullbacks who can attack well and help out the defence at crucial points with their thinking.

Midfielder(s): Mohamed Elneny and Mathieu Flamini

The most eye-catching midfielder at the moment has to be Mohamed Elneny. The Egyptian packs a punch with his stunning long rangers and he can also be a player who will pitch in to help the defence whenever needed. Both Flamini and Elneny will be expected to play the role of pivots and this is really intriguing. All eyes on Elneny as his debut looms large.

Wingers: Oxlade-Chamberlain and  Campbell
Arsenal is expected to name a line up with explosive fullbacks as well as wingers. Both Sol Campbell and Alex Oxlade-chamberlain are expected to start against Hull City with Chamberlain playing on the left and Campbell on right. Hull has to be cautious about the pace of these two young lads and for Arsenal, it will be all about the right crosses and clinical nature as they hope to see out Hull. Chamberlain recently scored a goal against Bournemouth from an acute angle and drifting from the left, he will be expected to cut in and showcase his clinical nature once again because Arsenal surely don’t look like they can lose a tie of this magnitude at home.

CF/CAM- Alex Iwobi

Alex Iwobi looks like the man to start in this position. Iwobi has come out as a sub only 5 times this entire season. The Nigerian international is yet to make a huge impact and Arsenal fans will be interested to see how he performs.

Striker- Theo Walcott

Theo Walcott has to repay the faith that Arsene Wenger has in him
Theo Walcott

Theo Walcott has to be the crucial man leading Arsenal’s charge. Pace, brilliance, control, passion and determination is what defines this top lad. His clinical nature and link up play will be the key and Arsenal will fully rely on him for this clash.

I expect Arsenal to see off this game at home and I really expect Hull City to play good football at times and pose a massive threat. Theo Walcott, Chamberlain and Sol Campbell with their incredible pace is a challenge for any defence but the spotlight will be on Mohamed Elneny and his role in the midfield along with Iwobi’s contribution.
