Strongest 4-4-2 Rangers Line-up That Graeme Murty Could Deploy Against Hearts On Saturday

Predicted Rangers Line-up To Face Hearts In The Scottish Premiership

Rangers will look to get back to winning ways, when they clash against Hearts in the Scottish Premiership, at the Tynecastle Park, on Saturday.

The Ibrox outfit sacked Pedro Caixinha from the managerial post after a disappointing run of results, that saw them lose their League Cup semi-finals to Motherwell last weekend and played out a 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock on Wednesday. The Gers are 8 points behind Premiership leaders Celtic after 10 games, also trailing Aberdeen and Motherwell, and are at 4th place.

Coach Graeme Murty is set to take the reigns as caretaker manager following Caixinha’s sacking and will hope to get a win under his belt this weekend.

Team News

Defender Bruno Alves is suspended for two matches, after his appeal against a retrospective ban for kicking Louis Moult in the last weekend’s cup clash was downturned. Midfielder Ryan Jack is also set to miss out after being sent off against Kilmarnock in the midweek.

Fabio Cardoso and Jak Alnwick who were absent for the midweek game are unlikely to be involved while midfielder Graham Dorrans, who was subbed off due to an injury against the Killies, is also a doubt for the game. Captain Lee Wallace is also ruled out.

Here’s how Murty might set out his team on Saturday against the Hearts:

Manager: Graeme Murty

Formation: 4-4-2

Wes Foderingham (GK)

The 26-year old shot-stopper will continue in goal for the Gers against the Hearts, in what will be his 13th appearance of the season in all competitions.

James Tavernier (RB)

At right-back, we could see James Tavernier keep his place in the line-up. The 26-year old has scored 2 and assisted 5 in all competitions this term and will be keen on adding more.

Danny Wilson (CB)

With Alves suspended and Cardoso an injury doubt, Danny Wilson could be in line for his first start of the season in the Scottish Premiership.

Ross McCrorie (CB)

The youngster has impressed heavily since making his debut earlier this season. Should continue in the heart of the defence on Saturday.

Declan John (LB)

With captain Lee Wallace sidelined until next month, deadline day signing Declan John will continue at left-back for the Gers.

Daniel Candeias (RW)

The Portuguese missed a spot kick in the draw against Kilmarnock and will want to bounce back with a strong display at the Tynecastle Park.

Jason Holt (CM)

With Jack suspended and Dorrans an injury doubt, Jason Holt is expected to keep his place in the middle of the park.

Jordan Rossiter (CM)

With injuries and suspensions hampering the Gers, former Liverpool man Jordan Rossiter could be handed a start in the midfield.

Josh Windass (LW)

On the left flank, Murty is expected to continue with Josh Windass in the line-up. Has scored one goal so far and will want to add to his tally.

Eduardo Herrera (ST)

Upfront, the 29-year old Eduardo Herrera is likely to get a start, after featuring from the bench in the midweek. Will want to improve his goal return though, having netted just once in 8 league games.

Alfredo Morelos (ST)

Partnering Herrera at the top of the attack should be young sensation Alfredo Morelos. The club’s top-scorer of the season has been brilliant and will be keen on continuing in the same vein of form.
