Aston Villa

Steve Bruce to make 2 changes – Predicted 4-4-1-1 Aston Villa line-up to face Brentford

Predicted Aston Villa Lineup to face Brentford in the Championship

Aston Villa have had a decent start to their campaign, which was not a possibility prior to the start of the season. Manager Steve Bruce has done a fine job in getting his team to play well and grind out results.

They should be disappointed at only getting a point away to Ipswich Town, who were down to 10-men before half-time. In spite of that, Villa have seven points from a possible 9, which is good enough for a start. They now must build on that and get three points against a mighty impressive Brentford side, who will be no pushovers.

Team News

Keinan Davis and Scott Hogan remain the absentees from the squad, while Bruce will be looking to make some changes to the line-up that drew at Ipswich. We might see Conor Hourihane and Neil Taylor starting ahead of Birkir Bjarnason and an ageing Alan Hutton.

Predicted Aston Villa XI

Manager: Steve Bruce

Formation: 4-4-1-1

Orjan Nyland (GK)

The keeper had a howler in the previous game, but the manager will probably keep faith in him for the time being.

Axel Tuanzebe (RB)

Tuanzebe was strong and defensively sound in the last game, however, he needs to make forward runs and support the attack as well. He could start against a good Brentford attack, so his defensive qualities might be needed.

Mile Jedinak

Mile Jedinak (CB)

Was initially doubted whether he’d flourish as a centre-back, but the Aussie has done very well to keep his place in the last two games. Expect him to get a prolonged role alongside James Chester.

James Chester (CB)

A regular for Villa and leads the backline by example. Chester is slowly turning into one of the best defenders in the Championship.

Neil Taylor (LB)

Alan Hutton did very well on Saturday but he is 33 now, so he may not be able to play two games in three days. We might see Taylor start this game at left-back.

Albert Adomah (LW)

Adomah needs to improve his final ball and create more chances for the team. He may get another chance to prove his worth.

John McGinn (CM)

The Scot was impressive on Saturday. He is constantly improving his game, which is refreshing to see. Bruce would want more of the same from him.

Conor Hourihane (CM)

Hourihane didn’t start the last game, but with Bjarnason not performing all too well, he might get a chance to claim his spot in the midfield.

Ahmed Elmohamady

Ahmed Elmohamady (RW)

The versatile Egyptian continues to be a key player down that right-hand side for Villa. Bruce would want more from him in the final third.

Jack Grealish (CAM)

The impressive playmaker will be keen to have more of the ball to impact the game in a positive sense. He’s been threatening when in possession.

Jonathan Kodjia

Jonathan Kodjia (ST)

Scored a goal after eleven months, which will give him the confidence to start this game. Villa will hope for more of the same in the coming games.
