Sterling to replace Walcott in Tuesday’s clash against Ukraine

Walcott has returned to North London after being left out from the squad ahead of Tuesday’s clash in the World Cup qualifiers match against Ukraine. England are suffering without having enough strikers in their squad as injuries to Rooney and out of form Carroll had to sit out in the sidelines. The English camp are however hopeful that the Chelsea forward will be available for selection. Three Lions’ medical team are hopeful that the Chelsea forward will recover in time.

It will be an opportunity for Sterling to show his skills at the international level. The youngster who broke into the Liverpool’s first team has been impressive in the games he played. After having impressed at the Merseyside’s youth ranks last year, the winger was roped into the first team this term.

England manager, Hodgson has also called up newly promoted Southampton’s playmaker Adam Lallana and Tottenham midfielder Jake Livermore as extra cover after losing five players from his original squad.
