Sterling out, Sane and Bernardo Silva to start – Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester City XI to face Tottenham

Predicted Manchester City Line-up To Face Tottenham In The Premier League

The toughest week in Pep Guardiola’s reign at Manchester City concluded with a disappointing Champions League elimination at the hands of Liverpool on Wednesday. A week which saw his team get cut to ribbons at Anfield, the Spaniard needs a big performance from his players against Spurs.

Probable Manchester City XI

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Formation: 4-3-3

Ederson (GK)

The Brazilian didn’t exactly cover himself in glory for Liverpool’s equaliser in the Champions League. However, the same can be said about most of his teammates. Ederson needs a commanding performance to prevent Harry Kane from scoring.

Kyle Walker (RB)

Walker has been a revelation for the Cityzens, slotting in seamlessly in Pep Guardiola’s plans this season. His marauding runs and athleticism will be key against his former side.

Aymeric Laporte (CB)

With John Stones suspended and Nicolas Otamendi looking inconsistent, it is time for Pep Guardiola to entrust the Frenchman with a central defensive role. Defensively sound and possessing a quick turn of pace, this could be a big turning point in his Manchester City career.

Vincent Kompany

Vincent Kompany (CB)

The Belgian skipper’s presence is imperative if Manchester City are to finish the season on a high. His rallying attempts to take City level against United are exactly the kind of responses expected from him this weekend.

Fabian Delph (LB)

Delph has done incredibly well to stake a place in Manchester City’s star-studded line-up following Benjamin Mendy’s injury. With Laporte at centre-back, expect him to feature on the left-hand side of the defence.

Fernandinho (CDM)

The only player to emerge from the Liverpool game with his reputation intact, the Brazilian is indispensable for Guardiola at the moment. His tactical dexterity is a major reason why Manchester City have been steamrolling opponents in the midfield and is an ever-present figure in the starting eleven.

David Silva (CM)

The Spanish magician was anonymous in both legs of the Champions League quarterfinal against Liverpool. Guardiola faces a tough decision in choosing between him and Ilkay Gundogan for the trip to Wembley. However, Silva should start ahead of his German teammate.

Kevin De Bruyne (CM)

It seemed like KDB was trying too hard at times to steer Manchester City into the semi-finals of the Champions League. His decision-making was uncharacteristically off the mark and he struggled to impose himself on the proceedings.

David Silva

 Leroy Sane (LW)

The mercurial German is a nightmare for Premier League full-backs, causing mayhem with his darting runs in behind the opposition. Already in double digits for goals and assists, Sane will be raring to put the disappointments of Europe behind him and stake a claim in the PFA team of the season.

Gabriel Jesus (ST)

Being a supreme favourite of Guardiola means that Jesus will start against Spurs. With Aguero’s return from injury, Jesus needs to quickly find his form.

Bernardo Silva (RW)

His impressive performance against Liverpool could see the Portuguese winger start against Tottenham.
