Sterling And Toure To Start: Strongest 4-2-3-1 Manchester City Line-Up To Face Hull City

Manchester City

Predicted Manchester City Lineup To Face Hull City

Manchester City will welcome relegation-threatened Hull City to the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Citizens are at 4th position in the league standings and will come into the game hoping to bounce back from a 2-1 loss they suffered at the hands of Chelsea on Wednesday night. Pep Guardiola’s men handed a 3-0 thrashing to the Tigers the last time they met in the league, but things might not turn out to be as simple this time around, with Hull looking rejuvenated under Marco Silva.

Team News

City will be without the services of right-back Bacary Sagna who is nursing a thigh injury, while young striker Gabriel Jesus is yet quite far away from making a full recovery. Ilkay Gundogan has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Probable Manchester City Playing XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Willy Caballero (GK)

The 35-year old shot-stopper has been impressive in recent weeks. Caballero has kept 4 clean sheets in his last eight games. Will continue in goal ahead of Claudio Bravo.

Pablo Zabaleta (RB)

Guardiola has used winger Jesus Navas at right-back in the past two games but could turn to Pablo Zabaleta for the weekend fixture.

John Stones (CB)

The former Everton defender is finally showing his class in City colours. Should keep his place in the heart of the defence.

Vincent Kompany (CB)

The captain finally made a return to the starting line-up against Chelsea and put in a decent display. Might be a risk playing him in 2 games within 4 days, but could start.

Aleksandar Kolarov (LB)

A change at left-back could also be on the cards, with Aleksandar Kolarov coming in for Gael Clichy. The Serbian has mostly played as a centre-half this term but could start on the left-side this time.

Fernandinho (CM)

In the middle of the park, Fernandinho will feature from the kick-off again. The former Shakhtar Donetsk man provides a shield to the defence while helping out in attack as well. A crucial member of the squad.

Yaya Toure (CM)

Alongside Fernandinho, we could see Fabian Delph sit out of the encounter against Hull City. And his place will be taken by Yaya Toure, who has looked rejuvenated in the second half of the season.

Raheem Sterling (RW)

The Englishman could be in line for a return to the line-up after making an appearance from the bench against Chelsea. His pace could prove to be the key to break open the Hull defence.

Kevin De Bruyne (CAM)

With Sterling coming in on the right-flank, Belgian international Kevin De Bruyne will start in a central role, meaning David Silva will get a breather.

Leroy Sane (LW)

And on the left-flank, the sensational Leroy Sane will retain his place in the side. The German international has been growing in stature with every passing week and is a prominent member of the side now.

Sergio Aguero (ST)

And the fulcrum of the attack will be talismanic striker Sergio Aguero. The Argentine has found form in recent weeks and did score in the loss against Chelsea in the midweek. He would be wanting to add more to his tally of 15 league goals this season.
