Sterling And Jesus Back In The Team – Strongest 4-1-3-2 Manchester City Lineup To Face West Brom

Predicted Manchester City Line-up To Face West Brom In The Premier League

Manchester City needed penalties to see off a gritty Wolverhampton side in the League Cup earlier this week, after a comfortable 3-0 victory over Burnley in the domestic league last weekend. The Citizens are at the top of the points table, with a five-point lead already, but failed to score in a game for the first time in more than three months, against Wolves in the Carabao cup.

They face a tricky test this weekend when they travel to the Hawthorns to face a West Brom side that lost to Southampton in the last round of games. Nevertheless, expect Man City to come out on top.

Team News

Benjamin Mendy and Vincent Kompany remain the only players unavailable for selection ahead of this game for Guardiola. Gundogan

Formation: 4-1-3-2

Manager: Pep Guardiola

GK – Ederson

Though Bravo’s heroics sent City to the next round of the Carabao Cup, Ederson remains City’s first choice in goal and should start this game.

RB – Kyle Walker

The English full-back has been decent but needs to pick up his game, especially with City playing on a different level altogether this season.

CB – John Stones

With Kompany out injured, Pep should stick with John Stones at centre-back this weekend.

CB – Nicolas Otamendi

Arguably the best defender in the league this season, Otamendi has been sublime at the back for City and will keep his place in the side.

LB – Fabian Delph

Though Danilo is an option, the manager would feel that Delph has been more effective in this role recently and should use him at left-back.

CDM – Fernandinho

As Gundogan started against Wolves, Guardiola should use Fernandinho as the deepest of midfielders in this game.

RM – Raheem Sterling

The English winger has been in goal scoring form this season and though he was dropped for the previous game, he should be back in action this weekend.

CM – David Silva

One of the best playmakers in England at the moment, Silva will have to be kept quiet if the Baggies are to get anything from this game.

LM – Kevin de Bruyne

The Belgian has been in sumptuous form in front of goal and will have to start from a slightly wider role in this game.

ST – Gabriel Jesus

The Brazil youngster is making headlines all over Europe and Guardiola should use him as a part of a two-man strike-force for this game against West Brom.

ST – Sergio Aguero

After winning the shoot-out with a cheeky shot in the league cup, Guardiola should give Aguero a chance this weekend to score a goal that will make him the highest goal scorer in the club’s history.
