Predicted Burnley Lineup To Face West Bromwich Albion

Burnley will go head to head against Tony Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League at the Turf Moor.

The Clarets are almost assured of safety following their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace last weekend. They now occupy 14th place in the league table, 7 points clear of relegation zone. Manager Sean Dyche will be hoping to carry the momentum from the previous game and heap more misery on the Baggies, who have lost their last 4 games in the league. The Clarets were handed a 4-0 trouncing last time when the two sides met, but they will go into the game this time with more confidence and will look for a positive outcome.

Team News

Left-back Stephen Ward picked up a knee injury against Palace and is a doubt for the weekend’s clash. There is a boost, however, with Ben Mee returning to fitness, but it remains to be seen if he will be ushered into the line-up right away. Joey Barton remains unavailable due to his illegal betting suspension while Dean Marney has been ruled out for the season.

Probable Burnley Starting XI

Formation: 4-4-2

Manager: Sean Dyche

Tom Heaton (GK)

The captain has had a great season with the Clarets. His presence between the sticks provides a sense of confidence to the team. He will start on Saturday.

Matthew Lowton (RB)

The 27-year old had an excellent game against Palace last weekend. He will look to carry on from where he left off at Selhurst Park.

Michael Keane (CB)

Arguably the Clarets’ best player of the season, Keane had another stellar outing at the Selhurst Park, helping his team to first away win of the season. Undisputed starter.

Ben Mee (CB)

While James Tarkowski has done a decent job in the last 2 games, Ben Mee is fit and available and should take his rightful place in the starting XI.

Jon Flanagan (LB)

The Liverpool loanee replaced Stephen Ward for the previous game and with the Irishman’s involvement doubtful, Flanagan should get a rare start against the Baggies.

George Boyd (RM)

The Scottish international is one of the most hardworking Burnley players, which is why he is so trusted by the manager. He will keep his place on the right-flank.

Ashley Westwood (CM)

The January arrival hasn’t played a lot of games since his arrival but got a start last week due to Joey Barton’s suspension. He will start again in the middle of the park.

Jeff Hendrick (CM)

The summer signing has established himself as a mainstay in midfield since his arrival. His energy will be key against the likes of Darren Fletcher and Jake Livermore.

Scott Arfield (LM)

The 28-year old had a very good game over the weekend. His crosses from the left-side will be a key outlet for Burnley.

Ashley Barnes (ST)

The striker got a goal against the Eagles last week and was a threat all game. His physicality will come in handy against a sturdy West Brom defence.

Andre Gray (ST)

The 25-year old was left on the bench last weekend but scored a goal after coming on late in the game. Should replace Sam Vokes in the starting XI.
