Star Returns – Strongest Possible Liverpool Line Up To Face Stoke City

Liverpool had a cagey start this season under Brendan Rodgers who was eventually sacked and then came ‘The Normal One’ for the side hoping that he could chance the course of the team and could bring some silverwares back to Anfield. Liverpool did perform well under Klopp but the task is not finished yet.

After the stalemate in Germany last night, they will be facing Mark Hughes’s Stoke City who are currently just 2 points ahead of Liverpool in the league. On Sunday, Liverpool will be hosting the match at Anfield and will be looking to go forward in the league by trying to achieve the Europa league spot.

But the job is not that easy as Stoke has been performing very nice lately. In their last 6 games, Stoke has been beaten just once and have won 3 games and this is the stat which is shared by the Liverpool’s side as it is as they have also won 3 out of their last 6 games and have lost just once.

Liverpool in their last game had to settle the point with Tottenham who came forward after being 1-nil down. Coutinho scored the opener for his side and Harry Kane cancelled the Liverpool’s chance of winning the game. The team will be looking to bounce back in the league for sure.

Here is the predicted Lineup for Liverpool who could face Stoke City-

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet-

Simon Mignolet has been criticised a lot lately for being too easy in front of the goal but clearly, Liverpool doesn’t have many options for this position currently. So for sure, he will be starting the game against Stoke and will be facing the nuisance that will be caused by Bojan, Arnautovic and Shaqiri.

Defenders: Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno-

The defence seems to be packed tight as all of them have been rock solid since Klopp has arrived but not Moreno that much. He has been little dizzy and can be beaten very easily by Arnautovic and Shaqiri so he had to be strong and smart to face the opponents like them. Lovren and Sakho on the other hand, are the obvious centre backs for the German manager who have shown a lot of faith in them and just because of him, their performance have been a lot better.

Midfield: Milner, Can, Firmino, Lallana, Coutinho-

Liverpool has been handed a major boost as Roberto Firmino returned just in time to face Dortmund and came in as a substitute last night. The Brazilian will be starting the game against Stoke, given his recent run of goal scoring form. Can will be deployed as a deep-lying midfielder supporting the defence. Milner will play a free role in the centre of the park with Lallana and Coutinho on the flanks who will surely close down at Stoke’s box to take a shot.

Striker: Divock Orirgi

Surprised? Let’s face it, after the departure of Luis Suarez, Sturridge hasn’t been that good for Liverpool. Enjoyed most of his time out on the sidelines due to injuries this season and even after returning he has not been ‘That” Daniel Sturridge. Divock, on the other hand, has got pace and is looking out for an opportunity where he can showcase his talent. For me, Klopp must give Origi his chance to start the game.
