Anfield is getting all ready to host the biggest game yet after its renovation as it will host the one club that every fan hates to lose to in Manchester United. In what is easily the match of the week, Liverpool take on Manchester United after the international break on the back of 4 back to back league victories. United, on the other hand, are fresh from a 1-1 draw against Stoke City and will hope to get back to winning ways with a blistering performance against their nemesis.

Team News:

Jurgen Klopp was visibly unhappy with what transpired in the international break with Dutch international Georginio Wijnaldum aggravating a hamstring injury that he was nursing before the start of the game. He is set to miss this game along with Adam Lallana, who picked up a groin injury before the break. The likes of Lovren and Clyne are back fit to start while Roberto Firmino and Phillipe Coutinho will be back with the squad on Friday and are expected to start.

Loris Karius:

Though not his best performance in the previous game, Karius is Liverpool’s first choice shot-stopper this season and should start this game against United.

Nathaniel Clyne:

One of the most consistent defenders in the league. Clyne will be back in action after he missed out on the international break due to a minor injury.

Joel Matip:

Having adjusted to the league with no fuzz, Matip will face his toughest test yet this weekend when he faces the likes of Zlatan and Rashford.

Dejan Lovren:

The Croatian also missed the games for his national side after complaining about an injury after the Swansea game. However, he is back in training and is expected to start against United.

James Milner:

Playing with utmost confidence in a make-shift position, Milner has excelled so far this season and is expected to start the game at Anfield.

Emre Can:

The German international is yet to start a league game for the side this season but he will have to fill in the void left by his team-mates.

Jordan Henderson:

Having dawned the captain’s armband for England, Henderson will be full of confidence and will hope to have a decent game.

Sadio Mane:

Mane has been excellent for the Reds since his summer move from Southampton. The Senegalese star will be one of the many threats for Manchester United.

Roberto Firmino:

Having got himself on the scoresheet for Brazil in the international break, Firmino will be all pumped up to face the Red Devils. He will hope to provide Liverpool a platform to take all three points.

Phillipe Coutinho:

Coutinho was another player who excelled in the international break. The Brazilian will be back with the squad just two days before the clash but his expertise are needed by Liverpool and Klopp cannot afford to bench him.

Daniel Sturridge:

Though not able to find the back of the net in the league yet, Sturridge has been influential every time he has started for the side. He will be expected to have a similar effect on this game as well.
