Predicted Tottenham Lineup To Take On Crystal Palace

Tottenham Hotspur will look to bounce back from the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea, with a win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Wednesday night at Selhurst Park.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men are 2nd in the league table, 4 points behind leaders Chelsea, who will be playing Southampton on Tuesday night. With just a few games left until the end of the season, Spurs would not want to drop points against the Eagles, who have been on a giant-killing spree, having beaten Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool in recent weeks. The last time the two teams clashed, Tottenham emerged 1-0 winners at the White Hart Lane and a similar result could be on the cards on Wednesday as well.

Team News

Pochettino doesn’t have many injury concerns, with goalkeeper Michel Vorm and defender Cameron Carter-Vickers being the recent injuries. Harry Winks and Erik Lamela have been ruled out for the season and are unavailable.

Here is how Tottenham could line-up against the Eagles:

Probable Tottenham Hotspur XI

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Hugo Lloris (GK)

The Tottenham captain has conceded the fewest goals in the Premier League this season among all goalkeepers (min. 20 appearances). He will be hoping to continue his excellent defensive record.

Eric Dier (CB)

The 23-year old doesn’t really look convincing playing in a back-three but has managed to perform decently well. He will keep his place at the back.

Toby Alderweireld (CB)

Arguably the best centre-half in the league this season, the 28-year old will look to bounce back after an underwhelming display against Chelsea.

Jan Vertonghen (CB)

Occupying the final spot in the three-man defence will be Jan Vertonghen. The Belgian had a decent game against the Blues over the weekend and will be keen on repeating his good showing.

Kyle Walker (RM)

Was surprisingly left on the bench for the weekend clash. He should be reinstated to the line-up in the place of Kieran Trippier.

Victor Wanyama (CM)

The Kenyan has established himself as a mainstay in the middle of the park in his first season with Tottenham. When fit, he is a sure starter.

Mousa Dembele (CM)

The Belgian international has been the driving force of the Tottenham midfield this season, with his energy and great technical abilities. Will keep his place in the playing XI.

Ben Davies (LM)

After the experimentation with Heung-Min Son at left wing-back, it could be time for bringing Ben Davies back to his position against the Eagles.

Christian Eriksen (RAM)

Doesn’t get his due credit often, but he is equally vital to this Spurs team as much as Dele Alli and Harry Kane. He will be the key to unlocking the strong Crystal Palace defence.

Dele Alli (LAM)

Tottenham’s second highest goal-getter of the season, the midfield prodigy has grown leaps and bounds over the season. A certain starter.

Harry Kane (ST)

The English striker scored against Chelsea over the weekend. He is still in contention for the Golden Boot award, and he will be keen to add more to his tally.
