SoccerSouls Awards – Manager of the Season (2011-2012)

Lets rewind the clock back to 2006 – “Calciopoli” scandal shocked the entire footballing world. Two league titles of that year and the year back was stripped from Juventus and they were demoted to Seria B. Everyone thought that was the end of the Old Lady of Turin.

Six years later Juventus are now the champions of Italy once again. Yes, the man who is responsible for this remarkable comeback – Antonio Conte is our manager of the season for 2011-2012 season.

League Stats:

Won: 23 Drawn: 15 Lost: none to complete an invincible season. They are the third Italian team to achieve the record after Perugia and AC Milan.

Moment to Remember: Victory against Lazio where Del piero came off from the bench to clinch the crucial win for the old lady.

Moment to Forget: When Napoli denied them the double by winning the cup final. It was Napoli’s first trophy since Maradona days.

Next Season:

Juventus looked a solid team in defence, but still they need a prolific striker to help them in champions league. If Conte can sign ether RVP or Jovetic, Juventus will be a force to reckon both in Italy and in Europe.  Anyway hats off to Conte for reviving the Old Lady. We wish him all the very best for his next season.
