Can’t wait the for Ballon d’or awards? No worries! Soccer Souls Awards is here! After spending hours deciding, finally our selection panel is ready with the awards.
- GK – Casillas had an amazing season with both Real Madrid and also with Spain. He played a crucial part in Spain’s Euro triumph (notably during penalty shootout against hard working Portugal).
- RB – Lahm‘s disappointing season still not enough to take away his spot in the team of the season.
- CB1 – Humels was rock solid for Borussia Dortmund who successfully defended their Bundesliga title.
- CB2 – Kompany captained his ship “Blue Moon” to their first premier league title. His goal against Manchester United was one of tide turning moments of last season.
- LB – Cole is probably the most consistent LB in the word for past decade. Definitely deserves his spot for helping Chelsea to win their first ever champions league title.
- CM1 – Xavi is the best midfielder in the world. Anybody arguing? He helped Spain to win their record breaking third successive major titles.
- CM2 – Pirlo engineered Old Lady to regain her title in a spectacular undefeated way. He was a key player for Italy’s runner-up finish in EURO.
- CAM – Iniesta “the player of EURO 2012” 100% deserves his spot in the team of the season.
- RW- Messi (nothing more to say here!!! 73 goals. OMG)
- LW – Ronaldo scored 60 goals in 61 starts this season and shouldered Portugal to a Semi-final finish in EURO 2012.
- CF – Van Persie single handedly took Arsenal to a comfortable third place finish but had a disastrous EURO 2012.
