Manchester United missed a chance to move closer to the top-4 in the Premier League table as they managed to take just a point from Marco Silva’s Hull City side earlier this week. They were held to a stalemate at the Old Trafford leaving the Red Devils with just 3 points from the last 3 outings in the domestic league. They are still alive in all 4 competitions this season but will have to start winning quickly, starting with the trip to King Power this weekend.

Leicester City, who are fresh from a loss to Burnley, are yet to win a point since the turn of the year and are close to the drop zone. They will need to get some results quickly and will hope to put on a tough fight in this game. But Mourinho will go for the kill with his strongest side and here is the predicted lineup he might field for this game:

Team News:

The manager confirmed that first team defender Phil Jones will miss this trip to Leicester. He will have all other players available for selection ahead of this clash.

Expected lineup (4-2-3-1):

David de Gea:

The Spaniard had a comfortable night in the previous round and he will hope to put in a similar performance, with a slightly better result for the team.

Antonio Valencia:

Having won the player of the month award for Manchester United, Valencia will be high on confidence going into this game against the Foxes.

Chris Smalling:

Though Eric Bailly is expected to be available, Mourinho might stick with Smalling at the back for this weekend.

Marcos Rojo:

The first choice centre-back at the moment for Mourinho, Rojo will take his place alongside Smalling and will be up against the likes of Jamie Vardy on the night.

Daley Blind:

After a decent performance at Old Trafford earlier in the week, Blind is expected to play at left-back for United for this game.

Ander Herrera:

The Spanish midfielder has been superb this season for United and should keep his place in the side for this game against Leicester City.

Michael Carrick:

The lynchpin in the midfield for Mourinho, Carrick has been decent in the last few outings and will start this game in the middle of the park.

Paul Pogba:

The French international was unable to help his side in the previous round but he will hope to put in a match-winning performance on this trip to the King Power.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan:

Though withdrawn early in the game against Hull earlier in the week, Mkhitaryan is an integral part of the squad for United and will start this game on the right-flank.

Anthony Martial:

An unused substitute in the previous game, Martial should be pushed back into the starting XI and should play on the left-flank for Manchester United.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic:

The Swede is currently the top goal scorer for Manchester United this season and is expected to lead the attack for the side against the Foxes.
