Slap In The Face For Arsenal As Attacker Is Happy That He Din’t Sign For Them

We all witnessed a magical season from Liverpool and especially from Luis Suarez last season before his move to Spanish giants Barcelona this summer. However, Suarez was almost close to joining North London outfit Arsenal at the start of last season after revealing that he was ready to leave the Reds due to their failure to reach the Champions League. It was the continuous efforts from Brendan Rodgers and club captain Steven Gerrard that convinced the Uruguayan to stay at Anfield to fight for the club’s Top 4 status.

According to Dailymail, who have extracted Suarez’ autobiography in which he has thanked Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard for not letting him join Arsenal.

“It would have been a big error that I would have made had it not been for Steven Gerrard,” he said. “We spoke about this when I went to Melwood [Liverpool’s training ground] to pick up my things at the end of the summer and he said: ‘You did the right thing, you waited until the best moment.’

“He had told me [the previous summer] to play well for Liverpool, give it another year and it will be Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or Barcelona coming for you and then you can go where you want, because you have the quality to play at any of those three clubs.”
