Singing this promising French striker from Ligue 1 will solve the Tottenham striker crisis

Marcus Thuram of Guingamp is a fair solution to the Harry Kane injury crisis

Tottenham are interested in signing Guingamp striker Marcus Thuram, son of France legend Lilian Thuram, according to reports from the Sun.

Since the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham have transformed into a free-flowing, expansive side who are capable of breaking down any team at will with their quick intricate passing and amazing quality in the final third.

The attacking flair they possess is the envy of top clubs everywhere, with players like Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane often leading the line. They have created a team with the perfect mix of finesse and ruggedness, and apart from winning a major trophy, they’ve achieved everything else.

While it does feel overdue, there is a good reason for this. England international striker Harry Kane is at the centre of everything good that Spurs do and without him in the team, they don’t quite look like themselves.

Reports from BBC are suggesting that Harry Kane’s ankle injury in the closing minutes against Manchester United is going to keep him out of action until March.

With Vincent Janssen not even in the picture, Fernando Llorente looks like the only real option for Tottenham as a replacement for Kane.

A simple solution would be to dip into the transfer market and pull off a major striker deal which will ease the pressure on the manager. As the Sun are claiming, Spurs are keen on signing Guingamp striker Marcus Thuram who is the son of former Juventus and Barcelona man Lilian Thuram.

He has played 15 games for the French outfit this Ligue 1 season while scoring 7 goals. He has started the season extremely well, which is attracting attention from the Premier League. He is touted to be a very good forward with massive potential.

He is a tall centre-forward who could be the target man around who the team can be built. He is a massive target in the box and often scored headers with his monstrous leaps. He is very good at hold up play and likes to look for threaded passes as well.

While being a good dribbler, he is strong and is a good presence in defending set-pieces as well. His signing will certainly worry Llorente, who is bound to lose his temporary starting spot to the talented young Frenchman.
