Silva to make 6 changes – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Everton XI to face Huddersfield Town

Predicted Everton XI to face Huddersfield Town in the Premier League

Everton will look to maintain their good start to the new campaign when they host Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The Toffees swept away Rotherham United 3-1 in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. Marco Silva will hope his boys put in another dominant display at home against Huddersfield.

Huddersfield, meanwhile, have endured a very poor start to their new campaign, having picked up just a point in three games. They were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Stoke City on Wednesday.

Team news

There appears to be a mounting injury crisis at Everton right now. Idrissa Gueye has sustained a knee injury over the weekend and Andre Gomes has suffered a minor setback in his return from a hamstring injury.

Bernard is out with a muscle strain and Ademola Lookman has a groin proble. Phil Jagielka, who was set to return from suspension on Saturday, suffered a knee injury that will keep him out for approximately three weeks.

Michael Keane is also out after sustaining a hairline fracture to his skull and Yerry Mina will not return until after the international break. Beni Baningime and James McCarthy are still recovering from their respective injuries but Morgan Schneiderlin has given an injury boost by making a substitute appearance against Rotherham.

Probable Everton XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Marco Silva

Jordan Pickford (GK)

Pickford is Everton’s undisputed first-choice in goal and should start the game against Huddersfield.

Seamus Coleman (RB)

Coleman is one of the best right-backs in the league and is expected to start at the weekend’s game.

Mason Holgate (CB)

Injuries to Jagielka and Keane would give Holgate another opportunity to impress the manager. He has to take the opportunity with both hands and deliver.

Kurt Zouma (CB)

A loan signing from Chelsea, Zouma is a physically strong, no-nonsense defender who will add a lot of solidity to Everton’s backline.

Leighton Baines (LB)

Baines might have lost his pace a bit but there has been no change in his commitment and desire to compete in every single game.

Morgan Schneiderlin (CM)

Amidst a mounting injury crisis, Schneiderlin’s return is a big plus. The Frenchman will be tasked with shielding the defence and breaking up the opposition’s play.

Tom Davies (CM)

Partnering Schneiderlin in the middle of the park should be Davies, who had a really good game in the midweek against Rotherham.

Theo Walcott

Theo Walcott (RW)

Walcott is proving his quality in an Everton shirt with every passing game and he will look to continue his good form at the weekend.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (LW)

Everton’s creative hub, Sigurdsson could play on the left just like he did in the Carabao Cup victory in the midweek.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (CAM)

Starting in the No.10 role could be Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who would be high on confidence after two goals against Rotherham. His pace and movement can cause some serious problems to the shaky Huddersfield defence.

Cenk Tosun (ST)

Tosun will lead Everton’s line on Saturday as the Turk’s search for his first league goal this season continues.
