Predicted 4-2-3-1 Everton line-up to face Lincoln City in the FA Cup

Everton and manager Marco Silva need a reboot, especially after the last few games, with the club struggling to win must win games.

They’ve won only one of their last five Premier League games, which includes a 6-2 loss to Tottenham, and losses to Brighton and Leicester City. Everton need something to reboot their season and a FA Cup clash against Lincoln City could be what they are looking for.

After a tough festive period, Marco Silva should rotate his side in preparation for upcoming fixtures.

Team News

Jonjoe Kenny was a revelation against Leicester City, playing the game of his life. However, Seamus Coleman should be in line for a start. And with Lucas Digne and Idrissa Gueye on four yellow cards apiece, there is a good chance that both the stars would be rested.

Probable Everton XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Marco Silva

Maarten Stekelenburg (GK)

While goalkeepers don’t need to be rotated, the Dutch veteran might get his chance once again in another cup tournament after appearances in the Carabao Cup.

Seamus Coleman (RB)

The Irishman has lost his place to youngster Jonjoe Kenny in recent games and could make his comeback against Lincoln City.

Yerry Mina (CB)

The Colombian was benched against Leicester City and could be in line to replace Kurt Zouma.

Michael Keane (CB)

With Kurt Zouma on loan from Chelsea, this could be Marco Silva’s chance to see how both Mina and Keane work together in a tie that could change the morale around the club.

Leighton Baines (LB)

Once a permanent fixture in an Everton team sheet, but he has finally been replaced by Frenchman Lucas Digne. Expect him to make a comeback against Lincoln City.

James McCarthy (CM)

The Irishman has only recently recovered from a double leg break among many other injuries and there is a chance he could replace Andre Gomes.

Morgan Schneiderlin (CM)

The Frenchman has struggled to make an impact under Marco Silva this season but he could be given a chance to prove himself in the FA Cup tie.

Ademola Lookman (LW)

A highly-rated youngster, the 20-year-old has made the most of his appearances off the bench this season and could finally get a chance to prove himself in the FA Cup.

Tom Davies (CAM)

The brightest of all of Everton’s youth stars, Davies was an unused substitute against Leicester City. Should get to start this game.

Bernard (RW)

The 26-year-old is yet to find the back of the net for his new club and an encounter against Lincoln City could prove to be fortuitous.

Cenk Tosun (ST)

The Turkish centre-forward has struggled to make an impact for Everton since his arrival last January and like Bernard, this could be his chance.

Tom Landry once said "Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbelievable." Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
